NEWS: Postal Department issues stamps of Chhota Rajan and Munna Bajrangi

Postal department in Kanpur Uttar Pradesh began an inquiry after postage stamps bearing photographs of Jailed underworld don Chhota Rajan and gangster Munna Bajrangi, who was shot dead in a Baghpat Jail in 2018, were printed and released by it.

The Stamps were issued under the ‘My Stamp’ scheme run by Indian Post for personalized sheets of postage stamps. Under the scheme where any person may submit soft or hard copies of their photograph or of their relatives or friends or any image of logo, symbols, heritage place or wildlife to get them printed and published on the stamps. The applicant has to produce an identity card issued by the government authority.

The matter is being investigated by Post Master General of Kanpur as to how such stamps got issued and also taken the responsibility to fix and have committed that such mistake shall not repeat again.

Whereas police are identifying the applicant and the department staff who issued the stamps and will take legal actions if found guilty.
