Central Government to Introduce New Law on Mediation

The Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the Central Government is set to introduce a new bill on mediation in the upcoming winter session of the parliament.

“In the upcoming winter session of the parliament, we will table a bill on mediation. Preparations for the same have been complete,” he said.

The Government seeks to make India an arbitration hub and international destination of arbitration.

He was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new National Law University proposed to be established at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

He further said that the Central government is very keen to work closely with all National Law Universities, law colleges and law academies.

“We want to strengthen India’s judicial system and will take steps to make judiciary stronger,” he said.

He also said that the government wants to develop a strong relationship with all judges of the High Courts and the Supreme Court.
