The India International University of Legal Education & Research (IIULER),
The India International University of Legal Education & Research (IIULER), an initiative of the Bar Council of India (BCI) Trust-Pearl First will be inaugurated in Goa today, i.e. 9th June 2022.
Supreme Court judges, Justices BR Gavai, Surya Kant and MM Sundresh, as well as Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, will be present for the event.
The University aims at imparting education through teachers from top international universities, judges (sitting and former), jurists and leading Senior Advocates and teachers of the country.
The University is said to have undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses also as a part of its curriculum it plans to incorporate:
- 3D Study of law (text, context and action part of law)
- Comparative law methodology
- Multi-disciplinary courses with proper integration into law
- Equal emphasis on skilling
- Simulated training
- Experiential learning
- International placements
- Foreign language lab
- Indian value orientation
- Personality development programmes
- Personalised mentorship
The Bar Council of India’s chairman Manan Kumar Mishra said “The institute with diverse faculty composition and significant presence of international scholars will have strategic collaboration with various International Law Schools, affiliation with Law Societies /Associations and student exchange programmes,”
“We have selected Goa for it as the state is a true international and cosmopolitan hub in India. We were also encouraged by the desire of the government of Goa to grow as a knowledge hub. Convenience and connectivity were also among one of the driving factors,” he added.
